Our fall schedule is in full swing and it has been wonderful to welcome back previous students and meet those of you who are new to the Studio. We feel deeply grateful for the ongoing commitment of our community of students. This commitment is particularly poignant this year as January, 2009 marks the 30th anniversary of Esther Myers Yoga Studio. We will celebrate the determination and vision of Esther Myers (1947-2004) and the ongoing growth and vibrancy of the Studio through a series of events throughout the year.  A full day of yoga with multiple workshops in January, a crystal bowls concert with David Hickey in February, a lecture and brunch with Mary Stewart (one of Esther's first teachers in London, England) in April, and a sumptuous Indian dinner are some of the events we will be hosting.  All proceeds from these events will be donated to Hospice Toronto (www.hospicetoronto.ca), an organization that assists those at the end of their lives and supports families affected by cancer through volunteer care teams. We are thrilled to partner with Hospice Toronto for a whole year. Please join us in supporting their excellent work and tireless efforts, and at the same time, learn something new, socialize with your fellow yoga students, and lighten and brighten the darker months with conscious breathing, movement, and meditation.

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we are expanding our international yoga retreats for this coming year only.  In addition to our annual retreats to Tobago in February and Costa Rica in March, Tama Soble will be leading a retreat to Israel in May and Monica Voss will be accompanying a small group to India in November (click on International Retreats for full details). Come along on an adventure, expand your horizons and enjoy the tremendous pleasure of practising yoga in some of the most beautiful and stimulating destinations on our wonderful planet.
